The history of the music of Broadway

With his legs planted live on the Broadway musical scene is exciting, dynamic and attractive. And you’ll find all kinds of music on the stage of Broadway today.

The first to really beginning to show the concept of musical theater was something called “The Black Crook.” This musical production has been a period of five hours and ran for 474 performances, beginning on 12 September 1866 in New York City’s Niblo’s Gardens.

Although not a musical interpretation in the same direction, as we know it today, production was launched, the idea that the integration of music in a show of action and the situation relevance.

Most musicals followed during 1800 and early 1900 was more a kind of cabaret music with assessments provide places of residence and feel.

Music selection without any real follow-up book or persistent action.

Then came “Show Boat”, which opens in December, 12th, 1927, in the Ziegfeld Theater.
